That varies, of course, but personally, I find it nice to give a gift that is BOTH unique AND practical. That’s why at Mood Company, for example, we have baby blankets and hot water bottles from the UK with a Scottish twist. 

For us, it is nice to give something with a touch of Scottish magic. Sometimes through the use of Harris Tweed or designed by the famous illustrator Catherine Rayner.

I think the most beautiful gift is one where the recipient still remembers who they received it from after a few years. The Scots are masters at coming up with a good story. So especially give a gift where you can create a story. For example, a special color or tartan pattern hot water bottle or blanket.
