The Fair Isle series from Tweedmill brings a piece of authentic Scottish textile heritage to your living room. These beautiful blankets are woven from 100% pure new wool: sturdy, warm, durable, and comfortable. Ideal for the couch, as a cozy bedspread, or just to wrap yourself up in the evening with a cup of tea or — go ahead — a good glass of whisky.
What makes this series special is the characteristic pattern. The name “Fair Isle” refers to a small island between the Orkney and Shetland Islands, famous for its traditional, colorful knitting patterns with geometric shapes. Think of the typical Scottish sweaters from the 19th and 20th centuries, worn by royalty and adventurers.
Although the Tweedmill blankets are not knitted but woven, they clearly carry that recognizable Fair Isle style: warm, multicolored motifs reminiscent of hand-knitted Shetland sweaters.They look cozy, traditional, and yet surprisingly modern in the interior.
